Our Commitment to Local Communities
A letter from our CEO

As a thrift retailer with deep community ties, we continue to navigate and adapt to the many challenges and uncertainties of the COVID-19 crisis.

While our doors have been closed, we’ve been busy preparing for when we’re able to reopen. Our goal is for you to feel safe shopping with us for everyday household necessities and one-of-a-kind finds, and while dropping off reusable goods when responsibly decluttering your home.

With this in mind, we’re sharing some of the actions we’re taking to help ensure the health and well-being of our shoppers, our team members and their families, and the communities we serve. The next time you are able to visit, your shopping and donating experience will look a bit different.

Here’s what you can expect:

New store and Community Donation CentreTM hours
Our stores will reopen on a store-by-store basis as we assess local market conditions. Initial hours will be shortened to allow for additional time to thoroughly clean and stock our sales floors. You can find the most up-to-date information about your local store here

Creating a safe shopping space
We’re removing merchandise displays and creating additional space on our sales floors to further support social distancing. You’ll notice floor decals throughout our stores and check-out lanes, making it easier for you to judge the proper physical distance from other shoppers. Your local store may also limit the number of shoppers inside at any given time.

Like other retailers, we’re also closing our fitting rooms to further protect your health and safety. We know that trying on items is a part of your experience in our stores, so we will extend our exchange policy on clothing and shoes to 14 days, allowing additional time for you to try on your items at home.

Enhancing daily cleaning procedures
We’re deep cleaning our stores prior to reopening and will increase the frequency of cleaning commonly touched surfaces, like check-out areas and shopping carts. In addition, sanitizer stations will be added for your comfort and convenience.

Protective Gear
Our team members will be wearing protective gear for their protection and yours. If you aren’t feeling well, we kindly ask that you stay home and take care of yourself. We’ll be here when you feel better.

Adjusting our reusable bag policy
As a temporary and precautionary measure, our team members will stop handling shopper-supplied bags (where permitted), though you can choose to pack up your purchases yourself at check-out.

We always want you, your fellow shoppers and our nonprofit partners’ donors to feel welcome and have a great experience with us. Thank you for your support as our teams work hard to make our stores and Community Donation CentreTM locations a safe place for communities.

We’ll continue to listen to advice from local health and government officials, as well as feedback from our team members and our customers, as we consider how we can best serve you while helping to limit the spread of COVID-19. Your health and safety is what matters the most.

Look out for one another and be well.
