How to donate directly at a Value Village store

How to donate to our nonprofit alliances

Contact one of our nonprofit alliances nearest you to donate your quality reusable goods. It's easy to schedule a pickup and our partners can answer your questions as to types of donations that are acceptable.

Interested in business opportunities with Value Village?

Thank you for your interest in becoming a non-profit alliance. Our contracts with our non-profit alliances range from 1-3 years and involve regular sizable deliveries to our stores. Organizations with smaller volumes can sometimes contact our contracted nonprofit organizations to enter into an arrangement with them to pick up your goods to bring to us, but this arrangement would not be directly with Value Village. Please check our nonprofit locator to find a list of nonprofit organizations in your area to contact about this.

Our Unique Business Model

Value Village's longstanding success is built on solid working relationships with 120 nonprofit alliances across the US, Canada, and Australia. We pay our alliances a portion of our profits - over $1 billion since 1954 - which provides them unrestricted, sustainable funding to support vital programs and services in local and global communities.

One of Our Core Values

"Provide benefits for our community through our charity alliances and recycling efforts."

Value Village was founded in 1954 on principles such as giving back and providing opportunities - and those are core values we are still committed to embracing today. Our alliances share our values and inspire us with their work. Partnering with local charities is not a byproduct of our business - it's how we do business.

How it Works

  • Our nonprofit alliances contact people in the community (like you) to ask for donations of unwanted, but reusable clothing and household items.
  • Value Village pays our nonprofit alliances based on the number of boxes and bags of merchandise they deliver to us. We also pay our alliances a percentage of the individual donations our customers deliver directly to our stores.
  • Our staff sorts through the donations to select the highest quality reusable items. These items are value priced and displayed in one of our various departments according to style, use, size and color.

End Results

We are able to offer our customers the best selection of merchandise of any thrift store in the world. Whether you donate directly to our nonprofit alliances or just enjoy bargain hunting at Value Village - you are making a difference in your local community and beyond by helping to support the many vital programs of our nonprofit alliances.

What a great way to "pay it forward."

The Saskatchewan Association for Community Living (SACL) is a family-based organization that works to ensure that people with intellectual disabilities are full, active and valued members of society. For the past 17 years, SACL has been in the recycling business, collecting used goods for Value Village stores. The benefits we receive from our partnership with Value Village are numerous. It provides us with financial stability to support our families, work towards social change, and develop innovative projects that support inclusion. At a community level, it also offers us the opportunity to fund local endeavors that make a big impact in the lives of children with intellectual disabilities and their families across Saskatchewan. For more information about supporting community living, go to www.sacl.org and click on Donate to SACL, or go to our fundraising link and go to the Saskatchewan Institute on Community Living link.
